From TED to Mexico
Al Gore, Bill Gates, Hans Rosling and I were some of the speakers at TED in Los Angeles in the spring of 2009. It was a tremendous experience and honor to be a part of this great event. In the program I would talk right after Meg Ryan who would give a 5-minute speech and read a poem she had written about the joy of becoming a mother but for various reasons it was cancelled. Right after my speech Herbie Hancock and his marvelous musicians played. And behind the stage I had a little chat with Jamie Cullum.
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment & Design – technology, entertainment & design. It is a conference with speakers who get 18 minutes each and you can watch these TED talks online for free.
My speech never got published because they had technical problems. But later that same year, I was invited to a similar conference in Mexico: “La Cuidad de las Ideas” where I gave the same speech.
Now in these corona times, some of us have more time to read books, watch movies and YouTube features so you want to see my speech you can watch it here:
