Happy New Year!

A New Year awaits! For me, this brings up mostly positive feelings. It feels like a new start or a new chance. In Sweden, it is popular to have New Year's resolutions, but I have heard several people say that they have stopped making New Year's resolutions because they are so disappointed every time they fail to keep their promises. But I think it's wonderful to have a new direction, new habits or promises to yourself. I already know in advance that I may not be able to do it, but that doesn't matter. The expectation of what I can achieve exceeds the possible disappointment that may come later.

One of the highlights of the year was when my niece Noomi and I took a aquarelle course this summer. We had Monica Månsson as a teacher and it was really educational and inspiring! I, who liked painting in oil the most, have suddenly found a new love for aquarelle painting.
