Moses has graduated!

In 2012, I had the great joy of helping a boy in Uganda through my foundation. His name is Moses Murungi and he was born with half arms and half legs. Moses went to a regular class in primary school and learned to write by holding the pen between his arm stumps. He is incredibly forward-thinking and enterprising!
As a child, Moses parents carried him the three km to and from school, but when he started to get older and heavier and they needed something to travel on, the Lena Maria & Friends Foundation bought his family a “Bodaboda”, a motorcycle to help.
Moses has now completed primary school and in December 2024 he graduated from Kyambogo University. We at the Foundation are very proud to have been part of making it financially possible for Moses to be able to get an education. He is now a qualified economist. What will become of this man in the future?
Many parents with children with disabilities believe that the child has nothing to contribute to this world. Moses Murungi, 23, was born without arms or legs but has now graduated with a degree in economics from Kyambogo University. His parents said that when Moses was born, friends and relatives advised them to kill the baby, as he would make their lives difficult.
NTV Uganda was there and filmed him on graduation day:
